Watch the Pilot of Future Arts LIVE!

Our first Future Arts Live! was on May 18, 2024 in collaboration with Emmy-winning Sessions in Place. The event took place and was livestreamed from Emerald City Trapeze Arts in the Sodo neighborhood in Seattle.

  • Dominique is a storyteller who can be found exploring the intersection of dreams and reality in today’s digital landscape. In 2010, he joined the band Area of Defect and for four years pioneered early Youtube, pressed 2 albums, and went on 2 tours.

  • AUSTEN is a Seattle-born and raised artist. Her music is rooted in gutsy storytelling and playful melodies. AUSTEN creates music that makes you want to dance and feel your feelings. Her debut album, Learned Behaviors (released in 2021), is centered on psychoanalytic reflections: the lessons we learn from this messy and beautiful life and the lessons we learn from lost love.

  • Maiclear is a Chilean, lesbian, creative technologist and multimedia artist. Her passion lies in finding and creating new interactive audiovisual experiences. Her background shapes her art, bringing together her love to surprise and actively involve her audience, and the love for new ways of interacting with technology. In her work, Maiclair aims to celebrate diversity and create inclusive experiences. She hopes to inspire others to embrace their uniqueness and use their imagination as part of the installation for Future Arts Live. The use of intuitive devices equipped with sensors is central to Maiclear’s practice, enabling participants to manipulate digital landscapes in real time. Her work seeks to explore and expand the potential for creative expression and human connection.

  • Archana has been actively engaged with technology-enabled, participatory art practices over the last fifteen years. As Founder & CCO of Gooey.AI, she works deeply in the Gen-AI space and searches for how the platform can enable people and companies (with a focus on the creative industry) to best use Generative AI. As Founder-Curator at BeFantastic.in, Archana enjoys keeping a keen eye on the best of creative AI practices and how best to showcase work that engages public awareness on UN’s Sustainable Goals using creative technology. Prior to that, as Founder-COO of Dara.network, she continued her interest in fostering creative cross-border collaborations and help change makers and institutions build social capital via a mobile app platform and real-world networking gatherings.

  • Ashanti Davis is an Artist, Thinker, Social Justice Advocate, and Arts and Culture Innovator who believes in the power of art and creativity to create meaningful change. She has led interdisciplinary teams in the development of unique STE(A)M experiences and exhibitions and has co-instigated and chaired internal groups for Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Accessibility. Now, Ms. Davis is the Program Director for Coyote Central in Seattle, WA, and the Community Experiences Designer for Pueblo LLC.

  • Ash Miller is a multidisciplinary artist and performer from Seattle, WA, renowned for her expertise in 3D and extended reality, as well as her talents as a musician and performer. She leads the interdisciplinary art collective FAUNIX, which blends installations, XR, music, and dance. In April, FAUNIX released their debut full-length album, "A Beacon For Chaos," available on all major streaming platforms.

  • Bailey is a Seattle artist who specializes in mechatronic and robotic art. He will be graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Digital Arts & Experimental Media in June. Bailey’s current artistic endeavor is “The Limitless Intelligent Design of Amazon Robotics” (LIDAR). Lidar is a fictional character that was created as a commentary on the societal impact of megacorporations. He drums on a bucket and uses other mechanical components to generate music.

  • Christina lives in Seattle with her husband, artist Joie Calio (7Horse, dada). They have two daughters. A graduate of the University of Washington, Christina started her career in LA leading international marketing and sales at Geffen Records for 10+ years before coming home to Seattle to direct music business development at Microsoft (Windows, MSN, Zune, and Xbox), as the music industry transitioned from physical to digital. In 2017 she left Microsoft to found Calio Music, advising businesses and artists at the intersection of music and technology. Today, she is the Co-Founder of Popins, creating entertainment XR holograms. She is the President of the Austrian-American Council, licenses music for non-profit Code.org, and is a board member at the Seattle Theatre Group.

  • Jamie is a dynamic multi-media artist originally from St. Petersburg, FL, now based in Seattle, WA. Her artistic practice spans a diverse range of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital design. Jamie’s versatile approach allows her to push creative boundaries, producing works that are both visually captivating and conceptually profound. Her collaborative installations seamlessly blend physical structures, dance, and music to create immersive, multi-sensory experiences. These interdisciplinary projects highlight her commitment to engaging audiences on multiple levels, making each interaction with her art unique and impactful.

  • Kate’s work explores the human experience through the innovative application of electronics, microcontrollers, and robotics. Her practice stands out for its playful engagement with the diversity of our perception, utilizing the language of technology to craft interactions that reflect the absurdity of the human condition. Kate embraces technology, using it as a bridge to new realms of creativity, similar to how ultramarine blue once opened up possibilities for Renaissance artists. Today's innovations in technology serve as her palette, inviting exploration and transformation of the art we create and how we connect with it.

  • Sadaf is an Iranian new media artist, currently based in Seattle. They employ an array of methods to delve into questions surrounding surveillance and its impacts on society. Through creations, they examine the potential of weaving an alternative narrative that disrupts the dominant societal systems, using accessible technologies. They are currently a PhD student in the department of Digital Arts and Experimental Media at the University of Washington.
